Writings of
Isabel Bécu Lindsay

“I think that one’s life is simply what one makes of life —

if you concentrate on the things that disappoint you

you are doomed to be disappointed

— on the other hand if you live life as it comes

and make decisions in the direction they make you happy

you will be merrily satisfied.”

Isabel Lindsay, from her Journals, October 13, 1998

Isabel's father mentioned one of her pieces of writing in his address at her memorial service.

It is a short story written by Isabel in 2003. It is not easy reading, as it is all one sentence. It also includes some obscenities. The original was completely written on torn grocery bags, and mailed home from somewhere in America.
